    "In The Mix - Volume 1", is the first album in a series of multi-platform, (Strings, Woodwind and Brass), original compositions, consisting of sheet music with backing tracks. These original compositions are in different styles, varying from classical, film music, video game music and trance to name a few and vary in standard from beginner to grade 5 ABRSM standard. The album consists of pdf downloads of all the parts for the specific instrument purchased, as well as the 10 backing tracks and a bonus 10 tracks of the pieces performed with a cello guide. In addition to this, there are Piano Accompaniments for each piece for acoustic performance too.
  • What is the In The Mix Absolute Beginner Strings Series?
    The Absolute Beginners series now opens up 'In The Mix' to String players to be, as well as players that have just started plucking their first strings. How better than to inspire a child or pupil, than to play along to Epic backing tracks, all with incredibly simple letter name notation. The pieces are all in different styles, from video game sounds to dance music and use really simple letter name notation, as well as simple scored notation, so that anyone can play, from age 1 to 100! They are suitable for Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass. There are various instructions on the sheet music, including information like how many beats to count before coming in and other technical skills you need, but the main thing about these pieces is having fun!

    Yes. In The Mix is an ever expanding resource of sheet music with backing tracks. Work on In The Mix Volume 2 album is currently in progress, as well as more beginner string packages and plans for more advanced level players.

    Ordering an In The Mix Package is easy. Just choose the package or packages you need and then head to the cart. Purchasing has the option of either a card payment via PayPal or using Paypal itself. When the purchase is complete you will receive a confirmation and a download link. This download link will include everything you need to start playing; all the sheet music, backings, (and guide tracks and piano accompaniments if applicable).
  • What age are 'In The Mix' pieces suitable for?
    In the mix music is written to inspire musicians of all ages, being inclusive and as varied as possible. That being said, children are the future, and we hope that these pieces will inspire future musicians to create, perform and cross boundaries for years to come.
  • If I buy a bundle, can I create an ensemble/group and play along?"
    IN THE MIX VOLUME 1: Yes you can, as long as you stick to the two groups: •Woodwind and Brass •Strings Unfortunately, you cannot have a full ensemble due to some of the backings being in different keys. IN THE MIX ABSOLUTE BEGINNER STRINGS SERIES: Yes, these work in any combination of ensemble using string instruments.
  • What level are the pieces suitable for?
    IN THE MIX VOLUME 1: The album caters for mixed abilities from grades 1 to 5, ABRSM standard. ABSOLUTE BEGINNER STRING SERIES: As the title suggests, these pieces are for absolute beginners and are a great tool to inspire instrumentalists from 1-100.
  • How do I play along to the backing tracks?
    The backing tracks are written in such a way as to let the solo instrumentalist immerse themselves in the backing. A good balanced volume can be achieved by not having the track too loud. These pieces are written to be played with confidence and to produce a big warm sound, so playing around with the volume, (maybe with a friend or family member listening to check the balance), will help you to achieve the perfect performance level.
  • Can they be learnt alongside exam music and other repertoire?
    Yes, 'In The Mix' is not meant to be a replacement for the grade exams, but a supplement to broaden and vary a musician's musical outlook.
  • Are these pieces meant to replace the music I’m learning now?
    No, they are designed to be fun and build your knowledge of a wider genre of music.
  • Are these pieces just for practice purposes, or for performances too?"
    All of the In The Mix pieces are great tools for spicing up your practice sessions, but are actually meant for performance. They are written to blow away your audience with epic sounds, lush orchestral backings and incredibly unique sound fx.
  • How will I receive In The Mix Packages?
    After purchasing, you will find confirmation with a download link. Click on this download link to save the package to your computer.
  • I have downloaded the package. How do I unzip the folder?

    All sheet music files are PDF’s and can be viewed and printed with any pdf viewer.
  • What format are the backing tracks?
    All audio files are in MP3 format and can be played on phones, computers and any other mp3 compatible audio devices.
